How do I downgrade the firmware on Mi Band 4?

My problem is that at some point my Mi Band 4 became unable to connect to a phone - neither Android, nor iPhone. One repair shop guy suggested that I should roll back the firmware, so I guess this is a thing?

To downgrade you mb4's firmware, you have to download the firmware file and it's suitable resource file.
You can find the files here - Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Official Firmwares | GeekDoing

If you get the connect the mi fit error on band, this means that you have not flashed the suitable resource file with the firmware file.

If you get any issues, you can start a conversation with me :)

Do everything at your own risk. Mostly it's safe if you do everything correctly ;).

Thank you for a quick reply!
Now, how do I read this image? E.g. What is 'Mi Fit 4.4.0' - a hardware revision, corresponding to a '1.0.9.66' firmware and 'v96' resource file? How do I know which hardware revision have I got?
Also, which software should I use to write these files?

You can read it like this
v96 = v1.0.9.66 where "v96" is your resource version and v1.0.9.66 is your band's firmware version. And so on for others.
The mi fit versions depect the version of mi fit with which the update has been released.
Also try avoiding beta firmwares, I recommend stable.
You can also use modified mi fit by Magical Unicorn.

You don't have write the firmware or something, you have to flash the files on your band. The tutorial can be found here - Mi Band 4 - How to install Firmware/Resources/Font | GeekDoing

Thanks :)

So, it is the hardware revision? How do I know which one I got? (if I can't connect to the phone)
How to check Hardware Variants (Mili_cinco / Mi Band 4 / Mi Smart Band 4) of the Mi Band 4 | GeekDoing

or try Notify for Mi Band. other 3rd parties can also read in some way the hardware data if the connection successful. btw if you have CE sign on the back near the sensor then you have a global variant.

basically flashing works in every way. no known limitation. you only have to care about that you flash the right firmware with the right resources package otherwise the flashing will be not complete. anyways can you access the Band's menu?

Please tell me if your band is connected to the app and is not getting connected after the connection loss( blutooth off or out of range connection issues) if these things are happening just unpair your band and pair it again.

Thanks for helping!

I used modified Mi Fit by Magical Unicorn, which was able to connect to my band. After that, I returned back to official Mi Fit, it upgraded the firmware + resources and everything kept working.
Goal achieved! I have my Mi Band connected again.

I'll return back to these instructions if/when I'll want to modify resources. Thanks again!
