Ok so I had not noticed this was application specific before. Here is a notification from Samsung's Email application.

Just sent myself a whatsapp message with a single quote and it was displayed just fine!? This must be limited to specific applications, I need to be more careful in the coming days

@MagicalUnicorn thanks a lot for your modded version. I have one minor request: is there a chance you could fix the default behavior or Zepp which replace ' in notifications with a weird `+space? Thanks in advance
