Question Continuous heart rate

I don't consider 1min interval as continuous. I use a 3rd party app to force REAL continuous heart rate which makes my heart rate curve much more accurate and smooth without the inaccurate jumps and dips. Battery life of the band is still 10days.
It requires the app to run the entire time on my phone though which is very inconvenient as it wakelocks my phone.

Is there a way to natively enable continuous heart rate on the band itself without starting a workout?
