Same here, I wanted to update the firmware to version 2.0.0.2 with Zepp Life. Then a screen came up with "Recovery Mode" and plugging in 5x as you described, then that QR code with no additional text.
Although I can connect the band to Zepp Life and even to GadgetBridge (with extracted key) and some functions seem to work via app (find my band, step counting, etc), but the display only shows a blue connection icon nothing else (see picture).
What can be done to make the band show the "normal" surface again?

Please try tap and hold screen for a while, like when you try change watchface.
Cool idea, thanks. I tried it right away, but unfortunately nothing happens.
The only thing the band responds to is touch, then the display turns on and the blue logo appears.
I've also tried swiping or repeatedly plugging and unplugging the charging cable, nothing helps.
But as I said, the band counts steps and, for example, if you select the "Find my Phone" function in the ZeppLife app, the band vibrates. Nevertheless, this logo is permanent. If you unpair it then the pairing QR code appears and you can pair it again. After that the blue logo appears again.

Zepp Life shows that band is successfully update to 2.0.0.2? If not, maybe force update will help? Otherwise try install Notify fot Mi Band, select to connect via Zepp Life and then try flash 2.0.0.2 again. If still no luck, try kill Zepp Life in Android, fresh inatall Notify for Mi Band and this time try connect it do MB directly and try reflash again.

No, the original update was unsuccessful.
Tried again with Zepp Life and GadgetBridge. The firmware is sent to the band, but the band reboots shortly after the end of the send process. The firmware remains the "old".
The Notify program fails to detect and update the firmware.

Edit1: Tested flashing the firmware with the just released Zepp Life 6.6.1 (and 6.6.0) but the problem remains.

Edit2: There are other people who have the same problem, e.g.:

I encountered the same issue with the mi band 7 and was able to recover it. I believe the current firmware you have somehow was corrupted. The band is still connecting to my 1st phone but only showing "synced/bind" symbol. No way to see settings on the mi band except only this "bind" symbol. You can verify your connection by going to your "find my band" on your mi app and your band will vibrate upon verifying. I did "unpair" this to my "1st phone". After this step, the band shows only "QR code" symbol which indicates you need to bind/connect it again to a phone. On this stage, I cant see anything useful on my mi band except the QR code and swiping this left/right/up/down will not help. The next step I did was to install a "zepp life" app to my "2nd phone" and then tried to connect/pair the mi band 7 to this phone. I was able to pair this again. I then manage to "update" the firmware of my mi band 7 to ver 2.1.1.1. after my "2nd phone" ask me to check for updated firmware.

To make the story short, if you can unpair this to your current phone and then try pairing and updating the mi band to another phone ( or same phone) with either mi app or zepp life then you have a good chance of recovering your mi band 7 interface. The key is to flush/update the mi band firmware with this kind of issue.
