Xiaomi launches an updated Xiaomi Mi Band 4 bracelet in Europe with NFC payments using Mastercard cards.

The first country to launch the news was chosen by the Russian Federation, while NFC payments will be available only for the version of the bracelet with the code MGW4059RU specially released for this country (it is obvious that the Chinese version will not work with NFC in this way). However, in the coming weeks they promise to release similar versions for other European countries, which may include Ukraine.

Lost all trust in Xiaomi after recent events especially with their close ties to the Communist Party of China... Certainly won't be trusting NFC payments from my bank unfortunately...
Nothing against Chinese people want to make that clear, just the government...

Banks trust payment card operators, so banks have no influence on this. The problem is an agreement with the payment card operator (only MasterCard, maybe Visa), not the payment system Google Pay, Apple Pay and more.

this chinese-russian love story still scares me. if the expansion is really important for xiaomi, then why they targeting russia first instead of the whole eu/row?

Europe is not an interesting market for manufacturers. He leads China, India, Russia. Purchasing power, determines the population size, not the purchasing power of an individual person.

yeah i know well. but they did an enthusiastic campaign before. with this step it still feels like they have no real trust in the eu. i mean they still not have enough contracts with western banks. no global payment methods... pretty bad attitude.
