That was weird.
I updated the firmware with Mi Band Notify, and got nice russian font. But notifications in English displayed incorrectly (as on my photo). However, Mi Band Notify was not able to connect to the band anymore, only re-installation helped.
After that I received one or two notifications also in [?]'s, but then suddenly English started to work.
I guess, this can depend on the app (mi Fit or Mi Notify) which is handling the notifications.
